Directions for Learnatron The Wonderful Writing Skills Unhandbook's Quick and EZ Directions
A student, one day, broke off from the joy and satisfaction that is school work, waved his limp, white hand above him and cried out, "Hey, teacher person! For those of us who seek the eternal truths of English Grammer, why doesn't the damn fool who wrote this program make a simple, step by step set of directions. Huh? Why not?" This is for him, and for all of you beggers at the fount wisdom!
Part One: The MOP
1. If you are not there already, jump over to "wwsu.editme.com."
2. Look over the Home Page.
3. Click on “Author’s Dialogue” button.
4. Read the “Program Introduction” dialogue .
5. Click on “MOP Page” button, and read the page.
6. Click on “MOP Form Page” button at the bottom.
7. Complete the form.
8. See bottom of page for saving and printing directions, then save and print.
9. Click on the word "Information" in the menu in the right hand column.
10. Read the list of skills covered by the program.
11. Make a list of at least three skills you would like to improve or simply choose one that has been assigned.
12. Choose which skill will be first.
13. Alternatively, do the skill advised to you by your very own teacher person.
The Wonderful Writing Skills Unhandbook’s Quick and EZ Directions
Day Two (or Later That Day): “The Skill”
Unless you are already there, open the WWSU web site (See address above) .
1. Click on the “Learnatron” button.
2. Read over the description.
3. Click on the “Step One” button.
4. Read over directions.
5. Complete the “What I already know” assignment as described on that page.
6. See bottom of that page for “save and print” directions. Save or print the page.
7. Click on the “Step Two” button.
8. Read over directions.
9. Click on the “Information Page” button.
10. Scroll down until you find the skill you chose to learn.
11. Click on the skill.
12. Read everything on that page. Do any exercises. (Please take your time. Read all of the information).
13. As you read, take notes.
14. Click on the “Return to Step Two” button.
15. In the blank place, write a summary of what you have learned.
16. Save and/or print the page. (Directions for saving are at the bottom).
17. Click on the “Step Three” button.
18. Read over the directions.
19. In the blank, write the dialogue between you and your MOP. Usually this is a page or two. The trick is to have MOP ask lots of questions, and for both of you to give lots of examples.
20. Save and/or print the page (Directions for saving are at the bottom.)
21. If you have not printed your work, go to your word processor and print the three pages.
How to Save and/or Print Your Work
1. Highlight the area in which you have just typed. You can highlight by dragging your cursor across the text while holding down the left button on your mouse.
2. To print, click on the “print” button on your browser.
3. To save, be sure the text you want to save is highlighted, click on “edit” on your browser. Click on “copy”. Or, you may click on the right button of the mouse, click on “copy”.
4. Open a word processor.
5. Click on “Paste”. You may then save to a file in your word processor.
(I'm trying to work out an easier way to do this save/print thing. Any ideas?)
